Our Team

Regina grew up in Renton, WA.. She obtained her Bachelors of Science in Plant Science from the University of Idaho and worked on her Masters of Agriculture in Sustainable & Urban Agriculture at Washington State University. Regina was employed in a variety of green industry positions from commercial greenhouses to residential landscaping, but found her niche teaching high school horticulture for 18 years. Along her varied path of experiences include 10 years as an adjunct professor and 12 years as a landscape designer.  Regina “retired” from teaching in June 2020.

Rich drove a bus for the local school district after retiring from a 40 year career with Safeway.  He helps immensely as our merchandiser, facilities manager, and all around super “gopher”.  He is especially skilled at trapping our problem critters.

The Farm

Pint Size Posies was born out of a request by one of Regina’s former students asking for assistance finding a florist for her wedding. A collaboration to grow the flowers for this wedding sparked the idea of a small, future business as a farmer-florist.

The summer following that wedding, a new love was blossomed while touring the Sequim Lavender Fest and the dream began to take shape with a supportive partner. Our small parcel of land was purchased in January 2020 and the micro farm began to take shape and has provided much solace during the pandemic.

Our farm name has multiple meanings. Firstly, we are a micro-farm, only 4000 square feet of intensely planted, no-till beds. Second, is the simple posy, the form in which most of our flowers are distributed. Third, is how we use recycled pint size mason jars to display and deliver our posies. Lastly, inspired by one of Regina’s all-time favorite childhood books/TV shows: Little House on the Prairie. We liken our place as the “little farm in the big woods”, nestled at the base of the beautiful and majestic Olympic Mountains.
